I saw on the news that Applebee's is closing several restaurants. Maybe that one will be one of them.:?

I went to Chili's tonight bama.  I couldn't find the dish you're talkin' about.  :(

Mushroom Swiss Burger was yummy though!

I'm sorry you have had bad experiences at L&D. We have never had bad service there and the food is always great :? They have the best homemade potato chips in town. The Reuben sandwich is a mouth watering delight! No connection to the restaurant or anything - I just love it there and had to give another opinion.

Red Robin - we've eaten there twice and it was very LOUD, prices seem kinda steep but we did have good service and the food was good.

I can't wait to see what all is going in over on New Garden - there's a new southwestern restaurant (Salsuilitos??) close to opening right by Target.

We ate at Salvino's last night. The food was excellent and the service was just as good. The portabello, spinach stuffed ravioli was outstanding.  The are in the shopping center with Gold's gym and Tuesday Morning. Tiny place very well run.

Stopped by Salvino's to check out a menu and it looks yummy.  Can't wait for an out to eat night.  Is the owner the same one who once had a small take-out Italian place on lawndale( near Food Dog)?

Had lunch today at Chop House Grille and it was outstanding, as usual.  I knew the service would be good when our server brought black napkins to replace white ones to those of us who were wearing dark pants.  That kind of gimmick impresses me since I don't get (or give) that kind of service at home.:D

And, oh, Chef....the portions were much too large for lunch.  None of us ate everything although it was delicious.  Of course, maybe it was because there was no bacon.  Also, the prices have increased slightly. I don't go often because 10.95 and up is a little steep for me for lunch.  I know you pay for ambiance, quality, and service, too, so I'm sure pricing walks a fine line.

Is it me, or is the Stokesdale Subway the WORST in the county? Every single time I think I'll give it another chance, I end up kicking myself. And now I'm kicking myself. Silly me - I just wanted a sandwich. I walked in, made eye contact with the kid behind the counter (whom I shall refer to as Zombie Girl, since she returned my smile with the kind of flat, lifeless stares that zombie horror film actors spend hours trying to perfect) and took my place under the 'Place Order Here' sign as I waited for her to finish with the customer in front of me. As she finished, another woman walked in and started asking about whether or not Subway takes credit cards. Instead of telling the woman that there was a customer ahead of her, Zombie Girl threw me another flat stare, then proceeds to take Credit Card Woman's  order!

I entertained the notion of asking for the manager's name, but frankly I just don't think it's worth the effort of complaining again. I've had it with this place. No more chances. I can think of one - count 'em, one occasion when I've walked in, been served and left satisfied. One out of roughly ten times over two years. At least, I think that's how long the shop has been open.

With those odds, I wouldn't go back even if they were giving out free sandwiches.

If that's true, then they've got footage of me walking out!

It's just amazing to me how incredibly inept the employees are at that place. I'm not hard to please. I just want to be able to walk in, wait my turn, order my food, pay and leave. I guess that's too much to expect.

Alicia, I think I have been waited on by Zombie Girl too, and I agree with your comments, not only about her, but the overall lack of service from the other employees as well.

Even worse, is the tiniest portions of 2 or 3 'small slices' of cheese that they put on their sandwiches (how could they even slice cheese so thinly?). The meat portions aren't much better.

Even though I live in Stokesdale, I usually drive to the Oak Ridge Subway (when I don't want to drive into Greensboro) because of Slow or No service at the Stokesdale location.

Of course, if you really want great (deli) sandwiches, Jersey Mike's beats Subway hands down. And for the very best in subs and deli sandwiches, try Lox, Stock and Bagel on Battleground. No one else can touch LS&B on quality for the price and the service is great too (whether take-out or eat in). Both are more worth the drive to Greensboro over eating Subway anywhere.

Alicia- "NO SOUP FOR YOU!"

haha- I've never had a problem there but I would not notice that sort of thing. I just sorta walk in and as soon as its my turn start giving my order.

I hate those people that never ask you what you would like, so then you wonder if you are waiting for them or if you do go ahead and start ordering, they will tell you to hold on.

I've underlined exactly what happens at the Subway in question. It's as if the employees resent the fact that you've come in,  and you've added insult to injury by expecting them to take your order.

I've worked fast food. In fact, when I was in my teens, I worked in a Subway in CLT. I know it's a sucky job, so I always try to be an easy customer, whether I'm in a Subway or another fast food joint. I talk to the employees like they're people (something I notice that many others don't bother to do). I say "please" and "thank you." It's not as if I expect to be greeted with a brass band, balloons and a shower of confetti when I walk in the door. But when I am ignored from the instant I walk in, it tends to tick me off. It's not that hard to say, "I'll be with you in a moment," or "What would you like today?"

In all honesty, if I were to list out even half of the stuff I've seen going down in this particular store, you'd think twice about eating there.
