Steve is it the Mexican restaurant on the same side as Elizabeth's? I like it also. They do a lot with seafood.

now Cracker you know you can't be off topic on MAAN.

Look at how many members  have joined the forum now.  And look at how many people are here right now. If they all jumped in and started typetalking the forum would blow up.

Thanks Jim for revealing yourself, for I was respecting you. I do want you to know I am not singling you out. This is by no means to attack you. I like to get the full picture of your comments, and have the ability to comment if I feel necessary whether I agree or disagree. I am not referring to  spell check or proper grammar as far as editing goes--like Pattie mentioned this is an informal forum. Changing context of post is what I'm more concerned about. Maybe if we were not allowed to edit once the send  key has been hit, we all would probably be more reluctant and really try to refrain  from harsh comments--even if you are trying to be funny. I think you would really try to be more accurate in your facts. The way I see it, once you make a comment-that is what your intentions were. That is ok-- and it certainly is appropriate to acknowledge a mistake and make a correction--just let it be known. You did such, but does everyone? I know I am getting the wrong impression when verbiage is changed, and I know I read it differently to begin with. ;)

Ok here is my comment on editing. I seldom edit as most of you can tell I seldom spell check either. Just lazy. Work on a computer all day long where I have to constantly rewrite and check for spelling. I type very much like I talk I think so don't do much with grammar either. The only time I think I have ever edited after I hit send was when I doubled a couple of times. I try to remember 9 years old may be reading what I write and I try to be as truthful as I know how. So it won't matter to me either way. Although I do have a question? Can you edit somebody elses post?

That's nice to know--because I was just wondering the same thing. But think about this--if a supermoderator, moderator or the other you said has permission to edit--then that means there is a way for an outsider to get access (one who is computer savy) and edit continuously until caught. We already know someone hacked in and got information that was not granted.  Nothing is 100% safe especially computer software.;)

GRITS, let me refine my answer to only moderators, supermoderators and Administrators have legitimate access to modify postings, and that access is only used when forum policies have been violated, and the violations being removed.  It would not be appropriate to modify a posting for any other reason.

Cannot dispute what you say about nothing being 100% safe, but if anyone else were to have access to edit someone elses postings, they would not have legitimate access.

Well.... that sort of actually happened, Grits.  Someone posted under Macca's screen name and it wasn't Macca. :X

I think the NWO has been working on ways to make the forum less accessible, but as for anywhere on the www, I doubt there's too much that's hacker proof if somebody really wants in.  :?
