Anybody who reads the article in today's NWO will quickly know what I think of air travel.

WOO HOO! The forum got nearly a page in the NW Observer today!! There's one box that says "What are your neighbors talking about?" that lists the different topics and tells people how to access the forum. And then there's "Have you heard the chatter?" They quoted different ones of us (!) from different topics: ff12 on enviornimentally friendly towns, Jim Flynt on growing grapes in downtown Stokesdale (in hopes of improving the demeanor of members of council :D), brewgeek about crazy cyclists, Starcatchr on gardening -- actually requesting a "weed whisperer!", yours truly on recipe exchange (bacon on the meatloaf), Baseball Buddy about Summerfield Town Council and running a town, and LACKA talking about a friend from Lebanon in conjunction with the Sept. 11 anniversary.... WOW!!

Maybe we'll get some new lurkers and playmates!!! ♥♥♥

I saw that Macca!  Chatter looks all spiffy now. If I wasn't already a forum member, I'd join for sure after takin' a gander at those topics!

Probably won't be around much tomorrow.  I'll be hangin' out at the park seein' if anybody needs a ride to the openin'!

:D

NITE ALL!

Morning all! A beautiful Park opening day is emerging!!! Going over to see the opening of Macy's first this morning at Friendly shopping Center. My daughter wants to go there and win the shopping spree, Yeah right, although I would be just as happy going to the Farmers Market. I figure the peaches aren't going to last much longer and I have bought peaches every week this summer. Besides I will miss tasting all the goat cheese. Also they have grass fed beef which is outstanding and really good pork.

Macca I figure at the rate the numbers are going up we will hit 100,000 by the end of September. See how mathematical I am getting practicing Seudoku?

Everybody have a great day!!!

Kris, actually it is not I, as I don't own a VW Bug.

I am currently out of town for a few days on a work assignment in the Williamsburg, Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula areas of Virginia so I don't have access to the GN&R except via the Internet and have not seen the aforementioned photo. What makes the VW bug photo so unique?

I work from time to time as an independent catastrophe insurance adjuster (when I am not starting catastrophes) ;)  I am up here inspecting wind damaged properties as a result of Tropical Storm Ernesto damages in 4 counties. Surprisingly enough, there is a lot more damage and a lot more properties damaged than I expected. Beautiful country up here and the Virginians are wonderful people to work with as well. Since I love history you couldn't find a more suitable place to combine business and pleasure.

Sorry I missed what I'm sure was a wonderful park opening in Summerfield today, which I had planned on attending. Please post and let us know how it went. Congratulations on what I'm sure will be the Pride of Summerfield!

Gosh Macca, I can only hope they don't run me out of town for those remarks! Let me know if you hear of any town council members gathering up hot tar and a truckload of feathers......

Hey, Mr Jim. I'm sure that bug not bein' yours don't disqualify you from bein' a genius. Hee hee! You're still a fine feller in my book.

Hey, Kris. Pappy missed that pitcher in the paper. What was the deal? I might need to get me one.

Wow

What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon & evening.

The Grand Opening of the park was a picture perfect event.

Perfect weather, good entertainment, huge crowd, kids getting their faces painted, and pictures drawn, making the bird feeders with the bagels, making the concrete tapestry things in the pie tins, didn't see one unhappy person all night.

Saw lots of happy kids on the playground equipment.

Talked with many of our forum participants, nobody was going thru withdrawals getting away from their keyboards !!!!   Y'all really do have voices !!!!!!  Was nice to actually talk with y'all face to face.

Just a GREAT DAY !!!!!!!

I'm so dog tired I can't post much tonight.

I just want to say that our park is beautiful, our volunteers are wonderful and the forum folks (12 of you that I can think of right off hand) that I got the chance to chat with and hang out with are the greatest bunch of people ever!

I love you guys!
