Oh, Mr. Mike!!! I try to stay out of this "bacon" stuff, 'cause it sounds like you don't need to be encouraged!!!:D

I just have to share this, though! The spoose bought some bacon -- wasn't labeled "thin-slice" or anything, just regular bacon.... Well this stuff is so thin you really don't have to turn it over to cook it!! Now, it's good and I like crisp! bacon, but you needed twice as much to feel like you'd eaten anything! In fact, this past weekend I got a decent slice and then realized it was 2 slices that didn't get separated! :D ♥♥♥

FatPappy wrote: Well, ain't no squash turned up at the back door lately fer trainin', so I figgered I'd go out yonder an' check on thangs. Long story short, it looks like the squash turned renegade durin' that full moon a few nights back an' made off with my money tree. Judgin' from the signs in the dirt, the money tree put up a good fight but was out-numbered. Pappy hollered fer Calhoun the Wonder Dog an' set off a-trackin' 'em. The trail led off down yonder toward the woods, but it ended thar as they took to the trees. Me an' Calhoun spread out in a broad search pattern plumb to the creek to see if they come down anywhar fer water, but, nuthin'.

I feel sorry fer my poor money tree, but I'm glad to be shut o' that loony squash bunch. Me an' Calhoun figger the kudzu an' muscadine vines that live down yonder in the woods know more about it than they're sayin'. We'll see, I reckon.

Pappy, NO, NOT the MONEY TREE!

I just had to make you spin that yarn once more, a little louder :D T'was a good 'un - when's your book gonna be published? I'll go set up over at Barnes&Noble and start the line a'formin'

Add thin BACON to the against the law list....

crisp! bacon (NOT)...Bacon should be Fried by the pound with all its grease...bubble gum style Bacon or for the Yankees rubber Bacon is the best...crisp bacon is only good if your taking it with you to eat it on the trail.....;)

Hoo wee! Ever'whar I go people are talkin' about food! Even Pappy's gut is talkin' to him about food! (Easy, big feller...we'll go rustle up some grub directly...)

Yeah, Kris, the money tree's gone. I been testin' out a hybrid kudzu kash vine, but these ugly lookin' bugs suddenly showed up an' they been eatin' away at my profits somethin' fierce. Here's a pitcher o' one o' the little devils...

Thank you for all the Welcomes everyone. You are all very kind. Pappy I will post some bacon ideas in the recipe thread, but I just basically agree, bacon should be in everything!

I keep trying to talk my hubby into raising some pigs of our own, I love pork period. But then again, I love beef, chicken, shrimp, clams, scallops.......

I don't do lamb or liver or kidneys, and I DO NOT DO CHITTLINS! Yuk! :P

Sorry about the double posting friends, I am a clicker!

Awww, thanks Cracker Jack for the little blip about the 5 cents.

I am walking meekly at the moment once I get to know you all I will probably let my blunt, sarcastic yankee humor slip out and I will offend someone. I don't do it on purpose it's in the DNA, I am from Massachusetts. I got saved at age 24 and God delivered me. :D

I love my home state I just found it was too hard to live there as a conservative, so I bailed!

We've all had the "dreaded double posts", blessings! Sometimes it's the quick trigger finger and sometimes the forum is real susceptible .... ♥♥♥

Maybe you'll find it easier to live here as a conservative! We've got all kinds here! Some of are even liberal in our thinking! ♥♥♥

Yep, We have friends who raise chickens. Started out with the intent of "free range" and all that stuff.... Gotta warn ya... It's not gonna happen if you start namin' 'em... There's just something about "having" Bessie for dinner! Although they did have some good eggs!:shock: ♥♥♥
