No silly Pappy!! I will walk this afternoon when it isn't raining! It is a wonderful day though. We haven't had a rainy day in a long time. I guess George got rained out this morning at the park.
I am going to check out the Farmers Market and buy my peaches.

I have a minute of downtime, so will holler at y'all
Had an unanticipated problem at Ford Oakville Ontario assembly plant Thursday, so instead of flying from Columbus OH to Greensboro, due to the current airline situation, I wound up driving from Columbus to Toronto Canada.
Given the current air situation, I am driving all over Canada coordinating the resolution.....today am in Aylmer Ontario (pronounced Elmer). It's about 50 miles off the beaten path, the company I'm working with is Amish. Canada main cities are pretty nice, but the freeways in the country are flat and boring. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
The Amish are pretty modern, driving cars, got computers, cell phones, etc. However, they all dress long sleeves, shirts completely buttoned up, and carry a heavy German accent. They have their young sons out here working learning the trade, 13 14 years old. All very polite, hard working. Different experience.
Hadn't planned to spend my weekend in Canada, fortunately it's nice weather up here.

August 25, 1916 - President Woodrow Wilson signs legislation creating the National Park Service.
Later that same day, citizen Hezekiah Crawdad condemned the legislation an' accused Woodrow Wilson o' drinkin' beer after hours in the park. Crawdad then stomped up an' down an' whined that we were not settin' a good example fer our young'uns. "When you people's brats get done working their 16 hour a day shifts in the factories learning the value of a penny, why don't you have them pick up the President's empty beer bottles, turn them in for the deposit, and maintain your own park, instead o' takin' my money?"
This is largely considered by historians to be the birth o' stand up comedy in the USA.

January 25 - The Danish West Indies is sold to the United States for $25 million; renamed the Virgin Islands
January 25 - Anti-prostitution drive in San Francisco attracts huge crowds to public meetings. At one meeting attended by 7,000 people, 20,000 are kept out for lack of room. In a conference with Rev. Paul Smith, an outspoken foe of prostitution, 300 prostitutes make a plea for toleration explaining they had been forced into the practice by poverty. When Smith asked if they would take other work at $8 to $10 a week, the ladies laughed derisively, which lost them public sympathy. The police close about 200 houses of prostitution shortly thereafter
February 24 - World War I: United States ambassador to the United Kingdom Walter H. Page is given the Zimmermann Telegram, in which Germany offers to give the American Southwest back to Mexico if Mexico will declare war on the United States.
March 8 - The United States Senate adopts the cloture rule in order to limit filibusters.
April 2 - World War I: US President Woodrow Wilson asks U.S. Congress for a declaration of war on Germany.
April 6 - World War I: United States declares war on Germany.
May 21 - Over 300 acres (73 blocks) destroyed in Great Atlanta fire of 1917.
July 1 - Labor Dispute ignites a Race Riot in East St. Louis, Illinois. Over 250 dead.
July 28 - The Silent Protest was organized by the NAACP in New York to protest the East St. Louis Massacre of July 2nd, as well as lynchings in Texas and Tennessee.
August - The Green Corn Rebellion, an uprising by several hundred farmers against the World War I draft, takes place in central Oklahoma.
December 6 - Halifax Explosion: Two freighters collide in the harbour at Halifax, Nova Scotia and cause a huge explosion that kills at least 1963 people, injures 9000 and destroys part of the city. Until Hiroshima, this was the biggest manmade explosion.

Mornin' Afternoon and Evenin' ya'll!!! I had to get out early this mornin' and hit the doorbuster sales! Woo Hoo! Bargains everywhere!!!
Then we went out to the NORTHERN family fun day to soak up some propaganda as to why the school within a school concept is a good one. Don't worry, I wore my duct tape hat so they couldn't brainwash me. Kid #2 is excited about it. I'm not at all excited but looking for the positives is keeping me pretty busy. I wonder if there is anyone else on this forum who is gonna be affected by this latest idiotic school board notion.... If there is, please let me know and we'll get a Northern forum started so I can vent about it.
Anyway, all of that took up the whole day.
I'd forgotten about the Sopwith Camel Macca! Snoopy rocks!!!!!
Pappy, all I can say about your stand up comedy posting is HAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Canadian Amish sound very interesting Steve-O. I don't know much about the Amish but I guess I've always heard that they didn't cotten to modern day conveniences so I was surprised to learn that they are enjoying a few of the best we have to offer!
Scuba J... what'd you see on your walk today??? I saw 3 groundhogs who were sitting up on the side of the road looking into the trees like they were watching TV or something. Of course I was riding in a car and not walking so I didn't get to ask them what they were looking at that was so interesting. Then I was out on Air Harbor Road and looking down that driveway that goes into the Policeman's club there were 5 deer standing in the grass grazing. This was about 12 noon which I thought was unusual cause I usually only see deer in the evening.
