Well, she didn't get his first guitar! It was just auctioned off for more than $600,000. A man who sells "valuable old cars" in Scottsdale, AZ bought it. It was expected to bring around $200,000.

ACtually, the guitar belonged to McCartney's boyhood pal, Ian James, who taught Paul to play. McCartney wrote a letter, included with the guitar, stating that it was the first guitar he ever held and that he learned to play chords on it. James sold it to fund his retirement. ♥♥♥

Glad you cleared that up! I was gonna hafta ask who Raffi was! I thought maybe it was somebody on before the finalists, but then, I didn't think PAPPY was a big AI fan, so I wondered how HE knew!!! :D♥♥♥

71,747

OK, we need just over 250 "hits" (views) to get to 72,000 by tomorrow. That would then give us 4 months to get 28,000 hits by our 1st birthday!!! Maybe we can make it even sooner! :D

SMS had suggested the 100,000 goal by our birthday (Dec. 2) but I had offered the challenge of doing it by Labor Day. Since we've gotten almost 7,000 hits in 3 weeks, I think we can beat the Dec. 2 deadline, but aren't likely to make the Labor Day one.

HOW ABOUT HALLOWEEN??? That might be an appropriate deadline for us, anyway!!!♥♥♥

Did y'all hear? Elliott missed the AI picture with the President? He overslept, got there late, was able to meet the Prez, but missed the official photo!♥♥♥

Macca, fer a minute I thought you meant Bill Elliot, the NASCAR legend. I thought maybe the President was tryin' to boost his image amongst the good ol' boys. But then I was confused by AI. If you meant Artificial Intellegence, that surely wouldn't have anything to do with George Bush. Neither would Amnesty International.

Anyway, if I was either one o' them Elliot fellers, I'd be glad I missed that photo op. I'd much rather have my picture made with Howard Coble anyway. Hee hee!

Thanks, Pappy, for jumping in there with me to show that I wasn't the only one who didn't get it. And thanks for your explanation, macca. Actually, I am familiar with American Idol (I'm not quite as isolated as some seem to think). But I was thinking along the same lines as Pappy -- were you talking about Bill Elliott and Artificial Intelligence (anybody who drives in a circle at 200 mph and the term "artificial intelligence" seem to go together to me)?

Then as I pondered, I thought maybe you meant Elliott, that kid who was in ET, but it seemed a little strange that it took this long for the president to ask to meet him. I know some may think he's slow, but that would be ridiculous! (W, phone home once in a while so you'll know what's going on, okay?)

OK, I have a QUESTION for LACKA!! ♥♥♥

One of the NW Observer writers, Alicia, has been writing about the internet, and talked about being a KNITTER!!! I seem to remember at one point you were concerned about all the people who CROCHET, b/c they tend to cover everything. I think you even called for town officials to look into this...

My question is, do knitters fall into the same category??? ♥♥♥

On the other hand, Pappy goes around in circles at work too, but I don't get a big paycheck fer it like like Bill Elliot does. He must have some form o' intellegence goin' on...

Say, where da Crackah! Crackah musta rented a good movie.

Meanwhile, Mammy an' Pappy was at the grocery store an' there loiterin' about on the meat shelf was none other than Liver Puddin'! I didn't buy any, (there were children present) but I noticed another meat product next to it called C-Loaf. Never heard of it, so I flipped it over an' startin' readin' the ingredients...hmm, let's see...pork stomachs, monosodium glutimate...(insert game show buzzer sound effect here)...ooooh, I'm sorry Mr C-Loaf, that sound means you've been disqualified! The category was "Food", but thank-you for playin'!

Fortunately, me an' Mammy were able to get on with our lives after that disturbin' encounter an' managed to find enough A-List foodstuffs that we were able to once ag'in clean out the bank account.

But do you run at 200 mph, Pappy? If so, then let us all know how to contact your boss and we will recommend you for a raise. (Mr Mike once recommended that I get a raise since I was begging for food here on the forum. Unfortunately I didn't get the raise or any food, so missed out on that one all the way around.) Actually I don't think ol' "Awesome Bill" is doing too awesome at the track these days (at least not at the NASCAR track), so he's probably not getting any big checks these days either.
