It's Saturday am over here, at 1 pm I'll be getting on the first plane to start heading home.   3 planes, and umpteen time changes later, I land in Greensboro at 11:55 pm Saturday night.     Shanghai to Seoul Korea to Chicago to Greensboro.

I have a few more pics to show you.

This is another true sweat show, this one making a variety of cheap plastic items y'all can identify with.

In this case, if you look closely, the plastic pieces coming out of this machine are the plastic covers to those long charcoal grill lighters.  Not a sign of a safety mechanism on this machine, the operator can stick his hand anywhere, although he mighty well trained to avoid moving parts.

This one is a big molded plastic sheet of ink pen covers.

If you think about walking thru Wal Mart, and buying those packs of ink pens that are 10 to a case, arranged like peacock feathers,  these are the plastic see-thru cases they are wrapped in.

This guys hands were moving so fast, notice even the picture is a blur.

Again, no safety shields, just go as fast as you can.

These were some kind of disney cutout, he said they go on front of little girls bicycles held on with some cheap cable tie.

These were being molded in one machine, then the excess flash cutoff in this machine

This is the time of year many of the fields were flooded, notice in the upper left a farmer is plowing the muddy water with a tractor, it has metal wheels with cleats.

Not sure what they were growing, these didn't seem to be rice paddies, but all looked rather healthy and well watered.

Since the industrial corridor of China borders the ocean, it seems like the Ningbo area even got creative with their garbage cans.   I could not tell what these things were at first, until I saw one over flowing.

Again.........I'm sounding like a broken record,  take a look at the tri-shaw in the upper left part of the photo.   There seems to be no limit to how much stuff they can load these things down with.    Virtually everything.   The BS of China tried to outlaw them as a traffic hazard, the rest of the China TC outvoted her saying they were too valuable to the economy.

And I'll end with a couple humorous ones.

Attached is the Asian toilet.  Fortunately there are enough of the US style around here so the Americans' can do it "American style".

Can you imagine squattin' over one of these babies, trying to aim pretty, and not leave a guano  present in the cuff of your pants???????

Most Asians are pretty skinny and agile, they can handle it.   Guys like me don't squat too well, and have a beer gut.   The angles just ain't the same.  (Let's see, the cosine of two bended knees, with beer gut nested between, and keep pant cuff elevated.............doesn't compute)

And if that ain't the livin' end.........the toiler paper is OUTSIDE the stall.  You have to predict how much you're going to need, and take it in with you.  They're sheets like you dry your hands.

some things are pretty well engineered in the good ole USA

I found the teddy bear I wanted..........tried for a long time to figure out how to fit it in my suitcase and bring back to USA.

Was a little oversize.

I have to close out now, and go find my ride home.

As badly as I dreaded this trip, it has turned out to be quite enjoyable, and mind boggling in learning.  I didn't even scratch the surface of things to be learned over here in one week.   Probably took around 200 photos, just shared with y'all some of these that caught my eye.

Jane - did a little more digging, and learned the staid old Communist government is even getting concerned about pollution and starting to act on it.  Wastewater treatment plants going in, car companies given emission standards to me, but it will all take time to take effect.

Hope all have a good weekend, most of mine will be in the air coming home

Hope you enjoyed !!

The existence of a certain proportion is seen by many as the source of a divine sense of balance, harmony and beauty.

No, I'm not speaking of Phi, the so-called Divine Proportion.

I'm speaking of 3 to 2, that glorious proportion on the Summerfield Town Council!

Hee hee!

SMS Travel safe!  Glad you are homeward bound at last!!!  I'll tell Pappy to let you cross the border, don't worry!

Kids have gotten the biggest kick out of the toilet pic!!!! Don't get me wrong, the other photos were educational too, but multi cultural bathroom education is just irreplacable!

One of them was demonstrating in the living room how they THOUGHT one might sit on that hole in the floor but the oldest said,  "NO! You'd fall in! You have to 'Pop a Squat' over the hole!"

New terminology for me.

(BTW... you should have gotten a NWO photo w/ that teddy bear!!!)
