Its true Macca this is a Tenn born rooster. Introducing new blood into the flock.  A friend of my niece had a party and needed a rooster. She asked me for a chicken to borrow but I thought she was kidding and didn't follow up. Apparently she wasn't kidding.

Pappy this should count as a fog so that's one snow this winter. Clarks Grandmother who would be 115 if she were still alive always told me. Fogs in August are snows in the winter. Lets hope that is right. Last winter was really nice but a dud as far as winter goes.

Is everybody getting bushels of tomatoes this year? I have the nicest tomatoes I have had in years. The garden grew several feet since Monday. Unfortunately some of that is weeds.

Yee haw! One snow on the list.

Pappy's finally gettin' maters worth eatin'. I've started gettin' so many maters all on a sudden, I've had to take the drastic step of doublin' up the quantity on sammiches an' biscuits just to stay ahead o' inventory. Either that or I'll hafta add more winder sills to put 'em on.

All this talk about sore backs and back pain and sky-attic nerves got me to thinking:

You never hear of politicians complaining of back pain.

Reckon that's cause most of 'em got no backbone?

DOGGETTJA wrote: Morning All! Steve you are certainly right about back pain. As a work comp nurse I spend large portions of my day with people with bad backs. I think the biggest problem I have is convincing people that we can hurt lots of things but we can't necessarily fix them so yes you can hurt that bad but there not be any quick fix. Walking is the single best exercise you can do for your back. Lots of walking building up gradually to miles every day will do a lot to "cure" your achy back. Unfortunately we are such a busy people and not inclined to have time to exercise.

Amen Jane

Even though I have my share of back grief too, personally I think stores & malls should designate the parking areas furthest from the entrances as "back pain parking", so folks have to do some walking.   Oh Well, Dream on.

Morning All!! It is a typical summer morning out there. So if you were expecting anything different you are going to be disappointed. Been listening to the news this morning about the bridge collapse. Isn't that something? It will be a mess for a long time.

It is Thursday morning. Rapidly coming up on Friday. Everybody have a good day.

That bridge was a bad deal. They said it was inspected in 2005. Either they missed somethin' big, or a lot happened to it in 2 years.

Nice job on the fog report, Jane. Couldn't you put your glasses in the 'frigerator again so they'd be all foggy next time you look out? I'm only thinkin' o' how hard Crackah an' Macca are gonna have to dance to make up the shortfall.

I was sitting on that bridge last week (Monday and Tuesday) on business.  I remember looking at the Mississippi River while sitting on the bridge in traffic due to construction.  It simply reminds me of 3 things:

1. How blessed I am.

2.  How precious every minute of every day is.

3. I've got to call my wife and kids and tell them I love them.

I just saw another thread with Pappy talking about snakes and such and how mean and useless they are. Which reminded me, that like politicians, snakes don't have a backbone either.

Them politicians sure could give snakes a bad name.

There certainly are spineless an' even venomous snakes in politics an' gov'ment, but we're also very, very lucky to have good, capable, trustworthy people servin'. John Wray, fer example, is one I would never call spineless an' whose political aspirations are a whole lot more about others than about himself.

(Edited by my own self because it didn't sound right. I musta been snakebit at the time.)
