Mornin' all. Yep that was a amazin' eclipse! Mebbe that's why the aliens stopped off here--to watch the eclipse from Earth. Sort o' like pullin' over at a overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
There's gonna be a blue moon in May. A blue moon is the rare occurance of two full moons in one calendar month. Only happens once in a blue moon. May 2 and 31. I've already picked out what hat I'm gonna wear.

Brrrrh it is cold out this morning. Windy too!! I have decided to clean out some drawers. What pack rats we are. We have drawers full of pictures and newspaper articles. Can't throw them away so just neaten them up and put them back in the drawer.
Everybody stay warm today. I'm hoping the State girls beat the Carolina girls today. What a tribute to their coach who will not be with us much longer.

Mornin' All!!!!
Jane, I missed the newest forum member's occupation. Must have been a good one. I reckon SMS zapped them before I got to see it.
As for Costco, me and Baseball Buddy must be on the "A" team cause we both did Costco last week so you "B" teamers could have it to yourselves this weekend! (I think I read somewhere on here that BB went there last week...)
Macca, I LOVE your new signature... Very Anna Nicole appropriate!
And Pappy... I don't know if I can withstand 2 full moons in one month.

Cracker- One of us stared at the eclipse too long last night. I don't see any change in Macca what so ever.

Since then I been gettin' some cash together to send to my Uncle Sam. He gets in trouble ever' year an' needs me to he'p him out. That cash I dug up out the backyard fer him this mornin' was literally cold, hard cash too. HAW!

Tee hee, Jane! Crackah means my signature, which says "The public have an insatiable curiosity to know everything, except what is worth knowing.Oscar Wilde. I changed it a while back, but don't know if it's just showing up for everyone or if Crackah just hadn't noticed! ♥♥♥

What kind of sicko would do that???
Seems to me that someone is trying to scare us and prevent us from exercising our first amendment right.
muhahahaha... I'm so scared.......
Post as usual, just keep an eye on your own posts!
Oh yea... and if I say something offensive to anyone other than the CC's, PM me and let me know....

Just had to brag about our area's Odyssey of the Mind teams. The Northern Region, which covers 17 counties, held its tournament at the middle and high schools yesterday. 21 teams advanced to the state tournament, which will be held at Leesville elementary, middle and high schools (near Raleigh) on March 31. (Cracker Jax, I'm sure you already know that Clay Aiken graduated from Leesville High!)
Anyway, Guilford County Schools, and the northwest area, were well represented, with 11 of those 21 teams coming from GCS! Northwest Middle School had 2 1st place teams, Northwest High's only team took 1st, Oak Ridge had a 1st place team and Stokesdale Elementary's team (coached by yours truly) earned its first trip (4 of the 6 team members have been together for 5 years) to the NCOM tourney! So 5 of the 21 teams come from our area!
Other GCS schools sending teams are: The Academy at Lincoln, Millis Road Elementary School, Jamestown Middle and Ragsdale High.
Congratulations to all!

Pappy's word o' the Day
Pyrrhic victory \PIR-ik\, noun:
A victory achieved at great or excessive cost; a ruinous victory.
Technically it was a victory for the British, who attacked the patriot fortifications -- but a Pyrrhic victory if ever there was: out of 2,200 British soldiers 1,034 were killed or wounded, including one in nine of all the officers the British lost in the whole war.
-- Geoffrey Wheatcroft, "A Revolutionary Itinerary", The Atlantic, April 2001

Been "housecleaning" today -- wears me out!!!
Had the TV on, though. BBC channel had a kind of "Secrets of the Beatles" show.... they talk to people who may or may not know what they're talking about (how do you know?) but I enjoy the video that goes with it, and sometimes know enough to chuckle or be appalled. We're all human, after all.♥♥♥
