I wonder where all these molecules o' oxygen we're breathin' started out 'fore the wind blowed 'em over this way.

I just got through for the day digging around the ball fields. Things are looking good for opening day. Got the new backstops in place on the big field and softball field. Used the bobcat for a little while today to cut a berm off and repair some damage ol' mother nature did in the last rain to the fields. But you know it is never ending. Picked up trash and emptied the cans around the field. Had lots of help from people just coming out to see what's was going on. Before long people had rakes in their hands and wanting to help. I actually noticed a couple of kids picking up trash. WOW what a positive thing to see. I am going to get these kids envolved in the future!!
Opening day for SRA Baseball will be March 24th. Everyone come out and watch the fun. Let's Play Ball!!

Vicki White-Lawrence wrote: Just had to brag about our area's Odyssey of the Mind teams. The Northern Region, which covers 17 counties, held its tournament at the middle and high schools yesterday. 21 teams advanced to the state tournament, which will be held at Leesville elementary, middle and high schools (near Raleigh) on March 31. (Cracker Jax, I'm sure you already know that Clay Aiken graduated from Leesville High!)
Anyway, Guilford County Schools, and the northwest area, were well represented, with 11 of those 21 teams coming from GCS! Northwest Middle School had 2 1st place teams, Northwest High's only team took 1st, Oak Ridge had a 1st place team and Stokesdale Elementary's team (coached by yours truly) earned its first trip (4 of the 6 team members have been together for 5 years) to the NCOM tourney! So 5 of the 21 teams come from our area!
Other GCS schools sending teams are: The Academy at Lincoln, Millis Road Elementary School, Jamestown Middle and Ragsdale High.
Congratulations to all!
That's awesome, Vicki. Tell your team congrats.

Had the TV on, though. BBC channel had a kind of "Secrets of the Beatles" show.... they talk to people who may or may not know what they're talking about (how do you know?) but I enjoy the video that goes with it, and sometimes know enough to chuckle or be appalled. We're all human, after all.♥♥♥
Now macca, I figured The Beatles had no secrets left as far as you were concerned because you already knew them all.

It was kinda funny, Sandra! They showed this woman who claimed to have been Paul's lover, actually claimed to have been responsible for his breakup with Jane Asher! (Supposedly Jane found her in Paul's bed! ) She looked awfully old for Sir Paul!!
It's easy to say stuff now, when there's no one around to dispute what you say!
There was also info about various things that went on publicly, like John's saying the Beatles were more popular than Jesus, his affair with May Peng, how Yoko was such a control freak, how they hated live performances b/c everyone was so loud with the screams that they didn't mean anything anyway. They were able to be more creative in the studio, but they weren't as close any more and that helped lead to the breakup of the group.....
As I said, I liked to see the video clips and hear them talk!! And they were so cute -- especially Paul, who still is!!! ♥♥♥

Yeah, everyone will probably get tired of hearing me talk about it, but it was great! I got started with OM back when Philip, who is now 20, was in 4th grade -- so I guess about 11 years ago. Elaine Berry and Beckie Berlin recruited me to help them coach, and I've been hooked ever since. I coached with them for a couple of years, then with a couple of other moms at middle school. Once he got to high school, there were so few kids involved that Beckie was then his coach again.
Along the way, Hayden, who is now 10, was always there and just naturally assumed that once he was old enough he'd be an "OM'er" too! Elaine came back along when he was in Kindergarten, but we never got it together. Then everything worked out when he was in first grade. Elaine guided us, and now -- here we are! I struggled (a lot) with Philip's teams, but it's been nice, bringing this one along, watching them grow and mature. 4 of the 6 team members have been together from the beginning.
They are responsible for the play, the costumes, the props -- everything! This year, they even came up with this song that they were not required to do AND they designed their own t-shirt! I'm VERY proud of them!

Hey where is everybody. I just checked and its me Vickie, Pattie and 7 guests. If those 7 guests signed up we would be up to almost 200 and way ahead of schedule.
We were going to start a lottery to see who got the closest to the day the registered people hit 200.
I figure Cracker and Macca are watchiing desperate house wives but it is over now.
Hello I feel like Macca when she talks to her self but Macca I haven't come back and answered my own questions yet!!
