Pappy remembers 2005.
It was a election year, as I recall.
...the year ol' Salty Dog went Missin' In Action...
(insert mournful harmonica music and old timey lookin' sepia toned flashback images using the Ken Burns slow zoom effect)
Whittlin', ponderin', spittin', and keepin' watch while Mammy artfully acquired chickens to feed the young'uns filled Pappy's days back then. One day Pappy heard tell of an election comin' up, so Pappy put his ear to the ground. Rumblin's of bad doin's led Pappy to join up with a small band of rebels on the town forum. The rebels fought hard and got in some good licks, but the Natterin' Nabobs o' Negativity had a mailin' permit! The rebels were better shots but the Nabobs used poison ink and anti-matter. Surrounded and outnumbered, the rebels made a valiant stand at the polls. But somebody went to sleep with the screen door unhooked and ever'body woke up with a pack o' stray dogs in the house.
We miss the former peaceful times and we miss ol' Salty and we miss them chickens now that Jane is lockin' 'em up at night. But Pappy ain't one to live in the past. The forum is growin'. We got us a nice recreation area to play in. More folks is showin' up everyday. 2006 is as full of promise as Pappy is full of, uh...what was that you said, Mammy? Now if we could just get a decent recreation area for the non-cyberspace part of town...
(insert the whistlin' theme song from "Bridge Over the River Kwai".
And watch out for that troll hidin' under the park bridge...)

| Loved your story Pappy. Ahhh, the good ol' times. Well, we just have to keep our ears to the ground, laugh a lot in the playground and make sure we let everyone know what the heck is really happening.

Pappy. I have changed my mind. Instead of being Jane when I grow up (No offense to Jane, but there are already gonna be a lot of her runnin' around...) I think I want to be Pappy.
Gosh I wish I could write like that!
Feel free to "Muddy" the waters on the playground any ol' time!

Congratulations Skiddles. 100 and such creativity too. Love the scuba diving fish. Just remember warm water and sunshine.
Steve just let me know when we set a new goal and I will getting going on this cranky computer.
Pappy that was a mighty fine yarn you spun there. Lets work hard in 2006 to accomplish parks and recreation areas for the Town.

Aww, Crackah. Thankee for the kind words. Pappy wishes he could sing show tunes! I already know how to dance. Hee hee!
Whoops, already more posts before I can finish this'n. Time to hit that edit button. Y'all are a great bunch. I'm plum proud to be part of it all. We'll work on them parks, Jane. Maybe even add a donkey ridin' trail. I'll leave the real writin' to the NWO, Steve. Pappy gets dangerous when he has a little time on his hands.

| I have a techo question for all of you.... why is it when I sign on to the forum does it show me the last page for "much ado about nothing" is page 18 and not the current last page of 56?

Skiddles.. When you sign on to the forum, you should see a little green arrow next to the titles of the forums if there is a new posting... clicking that arrow should take you to the last post in that forum...
IF NOT, at the bottom where you are seeing the numbers 1-18......... after the dots there should be a little black arrow and a little black arrow with a straight up and down line next to it.... if you click that arrow with the line, it will take you to the last page of the forum.
In this forum, you might still have to backtrack a couple of pages to catch up though!
