Any other takers???♥♥♥

Sure........everyone walk down 150 or Strawberry Road.   Will give us more to talk about in Road Rage

If that's what we want, Highways 158 and 68 would be good too! When I walk (and it's been a l-o-n-g time since I did it regularly) I try to stick to residential roads with less traffic...:D ♥♥♥

Well I use to walk at leat 4 days out of the week but this summer have gotten woefully lazy. Have a Curves membership and haven't used it all summer so this morning I decided to start back. It is exactly 2 miles round trip from my house to end of my road and back. Just a perfect walk i think.  Today I saw the doves hanging out on the power line. Could it possibly be time for dove season already. A poor little bunny rabbit met his maker in the middle of the road last night. Now if I had run him over I would have brought him home for dinner. Can't all of us be like Pappy and hunt with dogs and a gun. Cars work well too.

We also have some goats that are running loose from somewhere so I looked for them. The neighbors dog followed me most of the way home before I convinced it to go home. I have a favorite dog I walk with Harry. He is very good and does not go far into the neighbors yards and just stays mostly with me.

When I first started walking years ago I really hated it so I would count steps up to a hundred and then start over. I kept track of how many steps it took to get a certain place and stuff like that until I really began to enjoy walking. So to start back try counting steps, it keeps your mind occupied and you can't think about how hot it is , how hard this is and all those negative things that can come rushing in.

Lets do a diary of our walks here.

Next time it is cloudy I will try the advice to wear the scuba equipment but you know those flippers are the pits to walk in.

Jane! Perfect! Wouldn't that motivate more of us to get out there and see stuff and come back and share with our playground pals??? Thanks!! ♥♥♥

Did y'all see that Steve-o breezed thru when we weren't lookin'? COME BACK, SMS!!!

I am here, sitting in the Houston airport waiting to come home to S'field.

Looks like y'all been havin' a ball.......as usual.

Went to the Houston Space Center yesterday, was pretty cool, they've got a Saturn Rocket sitting there, ready to buy, never been used.

Also found out they're going to retire out some of the space shuttles for a mere $4billion each.

Thought Summerfield could buy a couple, use them to defray "other costs".

Never been to Houston... Thanks for sharing, Steve! ♥♥♥

Just wonderin'.... Who would buy those used shuttles? Who would we sell them to?♥♥♥

Goin' out to the garden an' back once a day was Pappy's big walkin' plan. But lately the squash has done gone crazy an' is sendin' shoots out all the way to the house. Now all I have to do is go to the backdoor an' let it in when it's ready. If I could teach it to get the mail outta the mailbox while it's out an' about, then come back an' bread itse'f with cornmeal an' hop in the skillet I'd be set.

I bet those squash plants are just trying to get inside where it's cool!!!:D

Or else, they love hearing your stories as much as the rest of us and you obviously ain't hangin' out in the garden a lot in all this heat!!! ♥♥♥

You're right, Macca, it is too hot fer such foolishness. I'm gonna start doin' my gardenin' in the winter when it's cooler an' there's fewer weeds. My other idee was to train the young'uns to he'p with the garden, but I figgered I'd have better luck trainin' the squash. Hee hee!

I did some walking yesterday when my teenagers talked me into taking advantage of tax free weekend ("Think of all the money you'll save, Mom!"). I walked all over that mall, and did get quite a workout writing checks and signing my name to those credit card receipts!

Well, me and my crew decided we didn't need enough stuff to make it worth our while to venture out to the mall madness! We don't enjoy shopping enough to figure it's worth the little bit o' $ we'd save to fight the crowds!♥♥♥

WHOA! How do ya like that color??? I put an extra "l" in "blue" and that's what I got!!!

SANDRA!!! DID YOU NOTICE WE THREW YOU A BIG PARTY ON THE PREVIOUS PAGE!!??!! SORRY WE WERE LATE!!! SOMETIMES WE'RE KINDA SLOW -- WE'LL BLAME IT ON THE HEAT! ♥♥♥

Well, something weird happened here. I typalked a whole response, but it just disappeared.

Anyway, thanks for the party! It was great!

On the tax free weekend shopping thing, perhaps those without teenager daughters just don't understand the concept of the whole thing. To them, it's sort of like the business concept of "You've got to spend money to make money." To teenage girls on a tax free weekend, it's more like "You've got to spend money to save money."

Yes, the crowds were pretty brutal, but we fought them off like seasoned pros. What you save on taxes is really negligible unless you're buying something really big, like a computer. For those who don't know, I am a bargain shopper. I can hit the sale racks and take advantage of those discounts like nobody's business. I have taught one of my daughters pretty well, but I'm still struggling to get the concept through to the other one. They both got the same amount of money to spend. One got about 10 items by taking advantage of discounts, sales, etc. While the other one's items were also on sale, she got 2 items.
