Sorry DT.... Busses was not on Wind Talkers.  Macca was KIND enough to correct my spelling of buses for the second time in MAAN history. 

Since she was watching a CODE Show, I just told her (a little white lie..shhhh) that I was speaking in code and MEANT to spell it wrong.

Mornin' y'all.

Pappy was up after hours last night fer a bit. Me an' Mammy went out on the town fer some o' them high priced vittles. One o' them places where you hafta get outta the truck an' go sit inside an' undergo a interrogation session 'fore they'll feed you.

My highlight o' any fancy eatin' place experience is when they inevitably ask, all excited an' happy, "Fresh ground pepper on your salad?" Like that's the real reason you came there, to experience once again that rare an' expensive spice (PEPPER! GLORIOUS PEPPER!) just unloaded moments ago from a Oriental camel caravan from which the traders maybe lost 4 or 5 men to bandits on the way, but it's OK now because the precious pepper cargo made it through!

I like to pause just a little bit when they ask that question an' make 'em wonder...just hold the suspense fer a second er two. Their hands, poised expectantly over the salad, holdin' that wondrous an' mystical grindin' device (that only authorized personel are allowed to use) ready to rain down paradise upon the bland, if only, if only I'll give the word. Their hands twitch, a false start...must wait, but why, why they wonder? Is the ol' coot deaf? Or dead? We're offerin' fresh ground pepper! Why doesn't he say yes? Everyone always does!

The seconds crawl by on their knees in a frozen eternity...until at last I make the barest motion as if to speak. A small throat clearin', a movement of my head. Then, as if after proper deliberation of such a weighty question, I've finally reached my decision. "Uh, well...OK." From far underground I feel the massive vibrations as some great an' ponderous mechanism starts back up an' the world one again begins to turn.

Pappy has to get a little fun outta the deal. I'll leave a tip. Hee hee!
