We're okay so far... I can hear the thunder, too! We got a little rain a few minutes ago. Maybe it's getting ready to hit!! ♥♥♥

As I said, I'm enjoying this trip down memory lane. There's a lot I had forgotten, and a lot that brings back some good memories!! ♥♥♥

Having had a "little sister" who was the "youngest sister", I can identify.

The older brothers rules are usually something like.......I can beat up on my sister all I want to and she has to take it.............but nobody else better try to beat my sister up, or I'll let them have it.

Was it that way at your house, or were you on your own?

Did any body else see the channel 8 report tonight on the Oak Ridge Murders? I had never heard them called that but I guess thats right. It must be horrible not knowing who killed your Mom. I didn't know Jack Kellam but I did know Ollie Ledbetter and a sweeter kinder person would be hard to find. I have always heard that they thought they knew who did it and tonight the sheriff deputy says they think they know and he is in prison for something else.  It was a scary day though.

My family was called away suddenly/unexpectedly right after I posted last time, so I don't know if I could've seen it earlier or not, but I can see it just fine now, Crackah! Such a productive little worker!!! Good to seem himmer again!! ♥♥♥

Also on Jan. 10, this fella made his first appearance! For some reason, Pappy felt the need to prove he wasn't an ol' geezer! As if any of us EVER thought so!!!! ♥♥♥

I hate I missed that story on the murders.... I remember the Ledbetter story but not the Kellam one.  What was the deal with that one???

Didn't a young man get shot on 68 a few years back?  His name was something like Parker (First or last... not sure which) and wasn't that unsolved?

Didn't those murders happen the same day?

The kid who was shot (he was 19, I think)... It happened right there on 68 where the ramp runs into 68 from Bryan Blvd, coming north on 68. There are still flowers on a tree there on the side of the road.... I cannot imagine how a family survives something like that... I think the NWO ran a story about these a while back; at least the ones that happened in OR and S'field...

I agree Macca.... I can't imagine how the family copes with that kind of loss. Unimaginable!

Ok... on that sad note, I'm going to bed. I'll see you in the morning!!!

The Ledbetter/Kallam murders happened in 1983 on the same day. Somebody traveling down 150 stopped at Ledbetters store where Ollie always went over and opened up while Howard ate breakfast and brutally murdered her and stole the cash register. Then traveled up 150 turned right on 68 and went to that little store and causght Mr. Kallam  and there was a terrible battle but utimately Mr. Kallam was killed also and his cash register was taken. Found thecash register a few years ago way back in the woods in Stokesdale. Which is one of  the reasons the cop gave for thinking it was a local person and they think he is already in jail.

The Parker murder was much later and Macca is right somebody still puts flowers on the side of 68. It is unsolved also.
