Wasn't sure where to post this, so will put it here.

We had a catastrophic event at our Mexico plant Thursday night, myself & many others found ourselves on charter aircraft Friday am going down to assist.   Without going into detail (not permitted to).    Fortunately no injuries, but it's like a house fire.........overwhelming task.   There were multiple events, blew out windows in wide area.

Our plant is badly damaged, we are working 24 x 7 to recover.  I will not have time to log onto the forum like normal for awhile.  Have to put all energies into this situation.

I dropped Patti a line and asked her to keep an eye on things, so any situations that arise, pls PM her to address them.   I haven't forgotten you, but will be absent for awhile.

Thanks for your understanding

Gosh Steve.  Guess it's too much to hope that this is an April Fool's Joke Huh?

I'm sorry to hear this happened.  We'll keep an eye on things here for you, don't worry.

Hope you can come home soon.

Steve, I agree with Crackah and Pappy -- Wishing this was an April Fool's post..... Made me feel awful for my small attempt at foolery this morning! Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you out!!! We'll be thinking of you!!!! ♥♥♥

♥♥♥Yep!  That's the one.  He's the parade coordinator.  If anyone has anything unique (Or even if you have an entry that's not so unique) that you'd like to put in that parade, just give him a call!  Tell him the Cracker sent ya.

(tee hee!  He'll say "the what sent ya??")

Macca, don't worry a thing about your little trick!  I'm sure Steve understands.  I think we can all be thankful that no one was hurt in the explosion!!

Macca, I thought Steve's thing was a April Fool's joke too. I found this on the internet:

1:04 a.m. March 31, 2006
PIEDRAS NEGRAS, Mexico – A series of explosions at an assembly plant in the Mexican border state of Coahuila forced the evacuation of thousands of residents near the industrial city of Monclova on Thursday.
The four blasts rocked a plant operated by Tokyo, Japan-based Takata Corporation that makes airbags and other automotive restraint systems.

There were no immediate reports of injuries in the explosions at the factory in Ciudad Frontera, a suburb of Monclova, said Baltazar Rico, a state representative of the Attorney General's Office.

However, amid fear of further explosions, authorities have begun evacuating an estimated 8,000 households within a mile of the the factory, Rico said.

Monclova is located about 125 miles southwest of Laredo, Texas. The cause of the blast is still under investigation.

One last posting..........here is one of the local newspapers that ran the story, somebody told me there is a toggle somewhere to change the translation to English, but I didn't look for it.

Thanks for the concerned comments, looks like I'll be camped out down here for quite awhile.

Of course I didn't find the English Toggle for that article Steve posted.  My Spanish isn't even that good yet. :)   Did anyone else have any luck?

I'm wondering if they know the cause yet.

Steve, thanks for sharing the photos.  Can't believe no one was hurt in that, especially bystanders living close by.  Wow.

I couldn't figure out how to translate either, Crackah. It really looks awful, huh? I hope everyone, including Steve, will be okay....

One of the older maccas just came in and tried to get a translation of the article for me. Shem said that if it was a "popular" enough article, Google would have a translation of it....
