I learned a new way to distinguish between STATIONARY and STATIONERY... One means to stay in one place, like a stationary bicycle, and the other is something you write on. To know which is the one you write on, look for the "e" for "envelope."
BTW: I learned this from Vanna White. This is a woman who has become an icon in our country, but I can remember when she was viewed as a vapid vowel turner.
I didn't actually learn it directly from Vanna.... I mean she didn't come to my house and tell me, or call me on the phone, or even send me an e-mail. She said it on "Wheel" yesterday and I was one of the millions of viewers who heard her say it....♥♥♥

| Lacka- I think you are right! We bought a generator 13 years ago for the very same reason and our power has never gone off again.
