Eggs and bacon on Friday night. Doesn't get much more exciting than that.

I was batching it Fri nite, so cooked myself some bacon & eggs too, just had a hankerin for an egg sandwich.

Guess we're creating a Friday nite ritual in Summerfield ??

No off topics in this place Mike (unless you demand one, then I gotta oblige).........but I gotta tell y'all a cute story.

I was at a meeting Wed night at an undisclosed location with un-named persons (makes you wonder??), and at each place around the table, someone had printed cards with Monty & his off topic sign.  It was great, LOVED IT !!  Monty is getting to be a well known lil feller.

Wow, I had no idea my bacon and eggs for dinner post would cause so much typalking :)

I gotta introduce ya'll to turkey bacon though so's to keep your arteries clean. I know you don't believe me (especially those that live out in the sticks - Summerfield - or even further - Stokesdale :D) but it really is good. Once you get used to it, you don't miss the real thing.......too much.

Now, I'll bet ya'll like fresh eggs too? Some neighbors of relatives keep egg-laying chickens and they have given us eggs. The yolk is ORANGE and too rich for me. I'll stick with the store-bought ones, thank you very much :?

Thanks for the party guys, that was really nice, I don't like to miss those.  They are so much fun and I gain less weight from the imaginary cake and ice cream than the real stuff.

come closer to the computer, I have to whisper.  Just a little closer, I don't want bama to hear.  Um did yall throw him a 300th party.  You know he was sick and all and he made the effort to be here and I would hate for him to be left out.  Maybe I missed it or it ran together with some other party.  You know it is sometimes easier to ask than to scroll back.  So if ya'll did, just don't mention this little conversation to bama, but if you didn't then please throw a party.

I guess everybody is out eating bacon this morning, hey ya'll arent Mike's weekend crew are you.  Have you all gone to Mayodan for breakfast?

Oh and another thing we are 2 people away from having our 100th member join.  Don't you think we should celebrate and welcome that 100th person.

Kris, I love turkey bacon.  I like to sneak a little of that turkey hamburger into the mix of the real hamurger.  I figure if I keep putting a little more each time that I can eventually go all turkey.  I cannot convince the family to give up real bacon, but will keep working on that too.  All my eggs come from the store.  I do have a neighbor who has a rooster, I would like to ring its neck.

Now I have to tell you I love chickens. I order all these weird looking hens from a hatchery and have eggs all year round. Once you get use to eating fresh eggs it is very hard to eat store bought ones as they have no flavor. Also my chickens get to go outside and are basically happy. I even have green eggs so frequently indulge in green eggs and hams. (The shells are green not the insides) Pretty cool.

I know! I know1 probably more information then you want.

I find it very interesting Jane.  And Lacka there's nothing more "country" than hearing a rooster crow in the morning..... Wish I had one under my bedroom window.....

Turkey bacon?? uh.. yum.

Steve, that's funny about OT Monty joining you at the meeting.  Those folks must have a great sense of humor.

Jane, I have heard this. Maybe I didn't give it enough time :) I've also heard that the composition of the egg depends on what the chickens eat. Is this true? Does that have anything to do with green eggs?

Keep typalking. I think this is very interesting!

Lacka, we love the turkey bacon but the ground turkey has not been successful around here. We just couldn't "acquire the taste" even when mixed in with ground beef.

Wonder when hunting season is for roosters? :D

Do your neighbors have hens too? I'll bet Jane could enlighten us but it seems like I heard that a rooster without any hens around can be a big pain in the you-know-what.

lacka, thank you, I do believe  there was a small bama 300 brew ha-ha.  thanks though.

ANyway,

nothing is more country than a rooster crowing all night and all day. I think you just hear them more in the morning and tune them out the rest of the day/night.
