hey yall,

black bears have been spotted in north Stokesdale. Lets start tracking the bears and report any spottings on this site maybe it will take our minds off politics. Summerfield and Oak Ridge are welcome too!

James Attaway

P.S dont feed them green maters

Welcome to the forum JamesAttaway!  :D

Good idea!  Haven't been on a bear hunt since I was a youngun'!

We'll keep a lookout over here in SF for bears, but I doubt I'll be the one doin' the spottin' .... See, I've got these yard deer, and they've been watchin' over my maters and keepin' the bears out!

Glad you joined us!

James keeps telling me about these bears, but I can't track them down!!:D

I've talked with several folks in town but I haven't even been able to find anyone who's heard about them before I told them about them. :?

I even called the sheriff's department and animal control, because I heard that animal control officers had come out and maybe even saw them. So far, nothing!

James suggested that we should start this thread, and I'm glad he did. Maybe we can find those bears now!

Welcome to the forum, JamesAttaway! This here is a good idee. Pappy ain't seen no bears so far in Summerfield but I have seen some political critters diggin' in the garbage lookin' fer tasty tidbits. Hee hee!

(Sorry, I couldn't resist. I'll save that kind o' stuff fer another thread.)

Seriously, bears or not, what with the all the rabid critters around, it pays to keep yer eyes on your young'uns an' yer animals.

Welcome, James Attaway!! :D

I've heard rumors of bear sightings around, but haven't actually talked with anyone who's seen one.... I hope I'm not the one who sees it, unless I'm far far away, looking thru binoculars!!!

My neighbors on Ellisboro Rd say that several people on Ellisboro and Gideon Grove roads saw the big one one afternoon recently. Just hearsay, but for what its worth. I'm still gonna wear my bearproof overalls when I go out.

Okay.... Got any extra "bearproof overalls"?

Any ideas what we are to do if we see a bear? I've heard you shouldn't run, and that they can climb trees, so what should you do if the bear sees you???
