Okay, where is that "Off Topic" sign? (I know -- I'm guilty here too.) And where is Monty when I need him?

Back to the subject, any other sightings of bear in Stokesdale?

Sandra,
Maybe the topic could be expanded to cover any wild animal reports. With the many reports of rabid animals we could post those reports here.

Shame on you Steve-O. I'm trying to get people back on topic here.

I think James has a good idea. Why don't we expand this to include other types of possibly dangerous wildlife.

:shock::shock: An employee at Gas Town has a photo of the "treed" bear.  It was seen in Rockingham Cty, not far from Stokesdale. Also, last week a mountain lion was seen on Oak Level Church Rd crossing over the small section of lake where the locals fish.

mrsnose,
Is this picture posted at GasTown? We've been trying to track down anyone with a picture they'd be willing to share with the paper.

Yes, residents were worried about that mountain lion.  Many animals in my subdivison were killed or seriously injured by it.  See if Tweety Bird can give you more info on the mountain lion.  I believe someone Tweety knows saw the lion.  Also mean to comment on the tree removal for the new Dollar General by the Bi-Rite.  I am sure lots of animals had to leave this area.  There was thick growth on that corner.  Wonder where the poor birds, etc., have run off to?

I believe a man named Rebel at Gas Town has the picture.  My daughter in law knows him and told me he saw the bear.
