Good Job TCat and Starcatchr, your both close to the prize. Their were some kind words for some local operators and I appreciate those very much. Our group is dedicated to creating a family restaurant that supports sustainable agriculture and offers a way of life that is void of the ideas that "Big Chain" marketing departments have programmed into our heads. We believe in very good food at very affordable prices. To do this requires lot's of capital, an above average business plan, a suitable location and a supporting local population. Most people go out to eat within 10 miles of their homes. We grew up with Andy and Barney after eating mom's home cooking. We played outside, didn't have cell phones or video games and were expected to attend college. So, in the interest of reviving old times, would you or would you not support a local restaurant who's goal is to provide great food, easy service, family atomsphere and all at a reasonable price? P.S we also love bacon and realize that when we purchase a quality steak for 2 at the teeter, we'll spend at least 16$ if it's on sale, 25$ if it's not and we'll drop another 100$ on groceries we may or may not need. It happens almost all the time.

Chef,
Sounds good to me. I like using local/fresh/organic ingredients in my home cooking where ever possible and like my restaurants to do the same. You may know the "Slow Food" group - we support that. We can definitely drop some cash at Whole Foods or Fresh Market or Earthfare. And I prefer good to fast.
I'm all for a good steak (especially grilled over fire not gas) but I'm tired of not having more options made with fresh seasonal foods close by. There's only so much fried and cheese heavy food I can stand.
I love supporting local vendors of meats, cheeses, honey and veggies, etc. We have great resources close by, let's see what some of these cooks can make!

The Piedmont Farmer's Market was open this weekend. It was chilly but we got some hydroponic lettuce, lovely soaps from the honey guy, a great deal on tomato, squash and pepper seedlings, some fresh goat cheese from Goat Lady Dairy and bread and a pumpkin whoopie pie (for breakfast) from Hoestetlers.
Yum!
I can't wait for the fresh corn and berries.
