This thread is a continuation of a discussion that came out of the "Property on Summerfield Road" thread. Please add ideas regarding the formation of wildlife habitat parks, pursuing Backyard Habitat Certification for the Summerfield community, and/or the formation of a community permaculture garden and food bank.

Do you think these issues are suitable for the Conservation Committee or the Parks and Rec Committee…or both?

Any suggestions on where to go from here regarding acting on our ideas...planning and implementation?

acook, i would believe both Conservation and Parks & Rec would be interested as they seem to overlap in several areas.

A Backyard Habitat community! What better way to show appreciation for nature's gifts.

Guys I spoke with Mayor Brown last night about the overlapping of the two meetings.  He said that the TC meeting should not last long.  If folks are interested in attending TC and the Parks meeting you should be fine.

Well how natural do we want to get here? I hear there's a nudist colony over toward Reidsville. If Summerfield goes that far, I'll be that visitor lurking behind the shrubbery.

That's what being a good environmentalist gets me. Can't I spend a long weekend in Costa Rica without you people getting out of hand?...(and out of clothes)

No need for nudist colonies in Summerfield, Zippy. Come to the Parks and Recs mtg on Feb. 9 to see what can really be done.

:)

That's what you get for leaving us on our own acook!

I do hope you had a wonderful time in Costa Rica!

The Summerfield Park is looking good!  Well, it's a little muddy right now, but it WILL look good!! Hope folks are following the progress!!

Not sure I want to see the nudist in Summerfield, except for Fabio Pappy.  acook is there room for people to come to the parks meeting, don't you meet at Town Hall? Maybe you could meet in the new park if we could get some lights put in for a parks meeting.

In today's issue of the NWO, Summerfield residents were asked to EMAIL their opinions about whether or not we support the town moving forward on the park in Summerfield.

Please take time to do this to show support for our park!  Let's show our council that we want our park!
