Hey Macca. I didn't see you here. Sorry!
They did have a great turnout. I was very pleased.
I think they made a pretty nice chunk of change for St. Jude as well.
OH! Forgot to mention that Republic Waste heard about the dinner on the Radio and called to make a nice donation.... Made me feel better about paying that bill....
Felt like they deserved a mention since they took the initiative to call...
Glad to hear this dinner turned out so well, and made some good $$$$. Congratulations to the SYC for their hard work, and to all the parents too !!!
Wish I had been there to participate.......I was thinking of y'all !!!
Headed back to USA today........let's hope St Patty's day is a better day to fly.

Good morning, everybody!
I just wanted to congratulate the Summerfield Youth Council and thank them for the great dinner last night. I took my 10-year-old son, who loves pizza and we had good food and good fellowship. We sat with Michael Garrett for a while, and even got to send Darlene a "hey" when she called him. Michael also took a picture of Hayden and told him it'll be on the web site.
Terry McLean also visited with us for a while, so we got to catch up with what's been going on with her! Then, we ran into Jane Doggett on our way out, and Debora Mauser came up to say hello/goodbye. Saw Bob Williams across the way, but never made it over to him to say hello. I had to get back to Stokesdale for the Town Council meeting.
We like to support these events (We also like to eat)... Last week we went to the band fundraiser at the high school and tomorrow morning we're going to Gideon Grove UMC here in town for a pancake breakfast! Yum!
Hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day... Be sure to wear some green!

Happy St. Paddy's Day to ya!
A bit o' blarney for ya....
Old Pappy lived alone in Ireland. His only son was in Long Kesh Prison, and he didn't know anyone who would spade up his potato garden. Pappy wrote to his son about it, and received this reply, "For HEAVENS SAKE, don't dig up that garden, that's where I buried the GUNS!!!!!"
At 4 A.M. the next morning, a dozen British soldiers showed up and dug up the entire garden, but didn't find any guns. Confused, Pappy wrote to his son telling him what happened and asking him what to do next.
His son's reply was: "Just plant your potatoes."

I saw that beautiFULL moon Tuesday night! I did some plantin' yesterday and the worms (and a small snake ) were very active!
Earlier this week, (on that really windy day we had) I heard a huge thud in the garage. A robin had flown into the garage window. I wanted to leave it for the spoose to take care of but not wanting the neighborhood cat (the one that walks all over my car ) to get a free meal, I dug the grave myself and performed the ceremony

Kris... you just said that "small snake" thing so nonchalantly! <shudder>
There's no such thing as a small snake.
That's so sweet that you dug a birdie grave. What a nice person you must be!!!

Kris, that is so sad about the Robin. In the house that I lived in prior to this house had a sunroom and they would get in there all the time too. Never had one die, but would have to get the younger Lacka (he love his animals) to capture them so that we could get them out. He would catch them in his ballcap and release them outside. Quite interesting to watch. I tried a couple of times and the birds would always try to attack me. It was like that movie BIRDS.
The SYC dinner was a success. Thanks to all of those who attended. Wow those kids worked hard. Crackah, it wouldn't have happened without you, man you worked hard. I know you are worn out today.
Yeah the DJ Mike was really cool. I can't imagine the dinner without him, he was awesome!!!! He really knows how to liven up the crowd. I loved when he got out and danced with the kids. They young girls thought he was cute, so I heard. He is kinda cute, not as cute as our imaginary Bama, in leather, but he is cute. You know some DJ's are boring, all of his stuff was up to date, and then he threw in an oldie once in a while, but always had something fun to do with the music to get everyone involved. DJ Mike and the kids made the event fun!!! Thanks everybody for all the hard work!!!!
