Pick the type of restaurant you would most like to have in oakridge. For example--Mediterranean-American with Brown Bagging. What's your opinion?

American or continental! We have so many Italian, Asian, Mexican and sub shops close by that we sure don't need another. Don't get me wrong - I support all of the above on occasion, but would like a varied menu, table service, a place to have a nice quiet dinner with friends. Village Tavern type. Thanks for asking!

I would prefer something similar to Olympic in K'ville with a variety of foods including meats and veggies. Good stuff!

I haven't heard of Olympic. I don't know what kind of food/prices they have, so it might be worth a try!
There's a family diner type place in Kville also. I can't remember for the life of me what it's called though. Seems like the word "plaza" has something to do with the name maybe.... I don't know. And maybe it's on 66(?) somewhere down near the pizza hut....
Anyway, they have a varied menu and very affordable prices.
I like the Village Tavern too Starcatchr, but I'd like to see something that I could afford to take the family to. Last time we all ate at the Village Tavern it cost us well over 100 bucks. Of course the Cheesecake might have driven the price up a bit.....
But then who can go to the Tavern and not eat the cheesecake???

Theres a place in raleigh that I would drive to the end of the earth for called the Village Draft House. There are now several of them in the Triangle but they have the best burgers. They also have like 20 beers on tap. I used to like Rockola burgers (you know thick juicy, flavorful) but Rockola hasnt kept up with that standard it seems. The Village Draft house is the best burger I have ever had in my life. I would love to see a place like this in this area. Oh with Huge-o-mongous TVs also.
oh and they also have numerous other foods and appetizers including fried pickles.
The Vilalge Draft house is located in cameron Village which is between wade avenue and hillsborough st.

Someone mentioned the idea of a hot dog place. Sounds like a weiner.

Mister Mike, somehow I can't see Pappy just running the bar. I can also see all your profits going down the drain (so to speak) if Pappy is the bartender. But to say the least, he would no doubt be the best and most well loved bartender in town. You might even consider naming it 'Cooters'.......

Yeah! a sports bar - of sorts. Well, it could offer big screen games like roof dancing, penglin racing, buffler shooting and chickie herding and such.

Perhaps one of our noted county commissioners would open another one of his Dog Houses out here.

Hate to be a spoiler here, but there are a couple of really good hot dog joints in K'ville, so we don't have far to go to get a good dog now! Doss' is right on 150 just before you get to the big city, and unless it has gone downhill since I was last there, they have great dogs and ice cream!!! ♥♥♥
If we only get to choose one, I'd rather it be something we don't already have easy access to... Like a good home cooked foods place, not just sandwiches. Ooooh, I know! A cafeteria, like K&W!

Macca, I totally agree with you! Some delicious home cooking would be much appreciated! I think it would be hugely successful.

Home cooked meals has my interest... not a greasy spoon type. Maybe a menu that includes fresh cooked in-season veggies. Yummmm, I'm ready for some fresh beans, real smashed potatoes and sliced tomatoes! Chicken pot pie, a good meat loaf and homemade stew for those chilly days like today.
