Wonder how HOT it was in Iraq today?
Wonder how HOT it was for the men and women of our American military in harm's way fighting for our freedom?
Wonder if they measure how HOT it is in degrees or intensity of the firefight or how close the bullets come to their heads or by the number of American dead?
While we leisure cozily in air-conditioned comfort in front of our computers griping about the weather.
I suppose HOT is measured in one's perspective isn't it?

The high temp in Baghdad today was 112 F with 23% humidity- that's a heat index of around 135. I hope the bad guys were laying under a rock so our guys could try to keep out of that heat!

According to experts, the average constant temperature inside a grave 6 feet deep is 58 degrees.
As of yesterday, the United States has suffered 3673 military casualties in Iraq.
So there are at least 3673 pretty COOL Americans out there not suffering this heat wave.
Wonder if any of THEM would trade places with US?
Are WE lucky or what?

I felt sorry for myself because I had no shoes, until I met a man with no feet.

Cuz, do you mean desert (Gobi or Sahara) or dessert (hot fudge sundae, strawberry shortcake or watermelon)?
Do they even grow melons in the desert?

Cuz, next time we go out to dinner, you better let me order dessert for you.
The waitress might bring sand in your drink.

Mornin' all. How 'bout a biscuit, Mr Mike? Whoops, I'm sorry. I meant biscuits.

Isn't farming in the desert part of the problem between countries in the Middle east? I believe that is what Isreal is fighting the Palestines over is the desert to farm. They grow lots of stuff including melons at a huge cost to the water supplies but extemely sucessfully as the dry air and controlled water is perfect to farm.

Jim I talked to my son Saturday, its was 132 degrees at his outpost (no a/c). If you want to know how they feel put on your winter coat, a back pack loaded, put some metal plates in all your pockets, some high boots, a heavy metal bucket over your head and stand outside in the sun all day. Oh yea add 15lbs of bullets and two heavy guns, now you are ready....Of course its 35 degrees warmer over there today then here.
He said when the bullets start flying it gets cooler, you forget about the heat.....
Out of his 12 man unit 2 have died and 2 have been wounded how high is that in degrees.....

Morning All!! It is summertime in the south. Wish the air was so thick though. Concerns me for future generations if we don't get a handle soon on fossil fuel emissions. It is a difficult problem.
A little rain would be nice also. My tomatoes are thirsty so I will hook up the hose tonight and give them a drink.
Hope everybody has a good day.

But the outpost only has MRE no mess hall. They are not allow to buy any food from street vendors. Thats why we send all kinds of snacks to them...
