And there's always that Cheeseburger in Paradise song.....

Who wouldn't want to go to paradise and eat a cheeseburger?

Patti just use your walker and roll on down to Paradise....Don't forget your AARP card......The SS check will not be here til the 1st of the month...;)

Look at all the stuff you have to look forward to at home:

All those AARP mailings

Reading the obituary's to see how many are leaving this veil of tears younger than yourself

Those Doctor appts to keep the old plumbing working

And you can flirt with all those younger guys now, and get away with it, they no longer think you're a danger

WOW......Think of all those neat things that come with 50 !!

I believe I can attest that Patti had an unusual day, to say the least. We here at the NWO did everything we could to see to that -- from plastering birthday wishes all over our office (including the kitchen and restroom) to placing a huge poster in our lobby for everyone to see as soon as they entered our office, we did our best.

The OR fire dept. helped us out by calling Patti out to an "emergency," then hooking her up in a safety harness, slapping a firefighter's helmet on her head and taking her up in the huge ladder truck (even making her take the controls -- which I hope never happens if my house is on fire because she definitely needs practice). Then they made her "climb" down the ladder from a couple of stories above the ground. She's just lucky she wasn't wearing a skirt! (Yes, we have lots of photos!)

We also showered her an array of unique and useful gifts. She got 50 pine cones (for when she "pines" for her youth), 50 straws (representing her advanced age, hoping the final one wasn't the one to "break the camel's back") to 50 rocks (get it -- because being 50's not so bad -- it actually ROCKS!!) She also got a journal and 50 pens (to write down all the "wisdom" learned in her half-century of life) and 50 pieces of bubble gum so she could keep her youthful appearance. At a birthday dinner, she was required to wear a headpiece saying she was "old as dirt" (complete with tiny shovel on it) and a pin with flashing lights saying she is 50. There were other gifts as well, and I can't even remember then all.

Yes, we did our best to humiliate the boss lady -- after all, we don't get opportunities like that very often -- and she took it like a pro!
