This is the official info on how to get a park survey for phase 2 of the Summerfield Park.

SPARC PROJECT #1: SURVEY

The Park Phase II Surveys will be available in several locations:

Town Hall: Survey sheets are already on a table just inside the side door (in the Museum).

Town Meetings: Surveys will be available at the next two Town Meetings (9/26 and 10/3).

Town Newsletter: Michael Brandt already has plans to include the Survey in the next Summerfield Newsletter.

At Saturday’s Park Celebration, people were very willing to fill out the Survey.  The results were positive and included several great suggestions!  I’m sure the final summary of all the surveys will be available to everyone interested in the details.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?  Please fill out your survey and return to Town Hall!  Continue to spread the word!  Thanks!

More info on Park stuff

SPARC PROJECT #2: DONATIONS FOR PARK ENTRANCE “One Brick At A Time”

I’d also like to mention a new SPARC fundraising project for the Park called “One Brick at a Time”.  Donations are being accepted to complete a beautiful brick walkway at the park entrance.  Shelia Williams made a wonderful artist’s rendition of the design.  For each $50 donation to the Park, an engraved brick paver will be installed in a new walkway lining the park entrance road.

Donation forms, with directions for your personalized engraved message, are available at Town Hall (on table just inside the door).  They will also be available at Town Meetings.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?  Please spread the word!  And, please consider making a donation now!  We would like to order and install the first 100 bricks (best price break) as soon as possible.  Once other people see how great the bricks look, they will be inspired to participate!  100 installed pavers would make a terrific “visual” picture to encourage more park donations (to “One Brick at a Time”) as sentimental gifts for the holiday season!

Please feel welcome to direct any additional questions to me, Sue Beeson or Town Hall.  Thanks for your help,

Pappy I want my brick to be next to yours.

Maybe we'll get lucky and our bricks will be placed in the same row as Bill Hill and George!

I wil try to find out at the next Parks meeting Thursday how many we have so far in this first order. Tell your neighbors and after the first order I think they will sell themselves because when people see them they will want one of their own.  Send in your money and remember the people who you might like to see in "memory of ".

Jane, where do we send our checks and how do we make them payable.

What a nifty idea!

Yee Haw! Crackah, I'd be plumb honored to be next to you.

Say, Jane, how many characters can we get on one brick? Hmm, maybe I should rephrase that. How many LETTERS can we get on one brick. I might want to compose a epic or two.

Do we get a discount if we buy several bricks to accommodate multiple personalities?

(I'll behave...)

Ha!  That'll be the day! ;)

I'd like to know how many spaces are allowed on each brick too.  I haven't seen the order form.

I heard they were pretty pricey to have made (maybe $18.00 ?) so 50.00 isn't such a bad deal.

Pappy I see where you might need more than one brick to accomodate your many personalities

I have sent an email to find out the answers to the questions and will let you know what I learn.

Fer a permanent addition to the park and a fun way to contribute, it's a bargain!

Further information from Sherrie

Glad to provide details for the personalized engraving:

Each brick has room for up to 3 lines,

Up to 18 spaces per line,

For a total of 54 characters maximum per brick.

Letters, numbers, punctuation and blank spaces each count as a character.

Make check payable to Town of Summerfield – Park Fund.

Mail to Town of Summerfield

Attention SPARC

PO Box 970

Summerfield, NC 27358

Please include the name of person/company making the donation, phone number and email address.

Clearly print out the message you would like engraved for each brick.

I’ll contact you if there is any question about the exact wording.

For your convenience, there are pre-printed forms available at Town Hall; but if one isn’t handy,

just print the message for each brick.   Request as many as you want.  Think of the spacing like this…..

NOTE: ONLY ONE CHARACTER IN EACH BOX (3 rows of 18 spaces for a maximum of 54 characters).

ALL LETTERS, PUNCTUATION AND SPACES COUNT AS ONE CHARACTER EACH.

SPARC is inviting donations for the park in any amount!  In appreciation of each and every $50 investment in the park, SPARC has offered to engrave a personalized brick.  Gosh, I hope Pappy has LOTS & LOTS of relatives!

Thanks to everyone for your interest!  Sherrie
