What is "Skiddles Mania"?
I see it on that school ( I think?), on Battleground, just north of Horse Pen Creek on the left. Been meaning to ask ya?

Correct..........the sign seems to go up and down each week, so you may have to look over the course of a few days.
Kind of cute, I was going to take a picture, and post it here for all to see, never seem to have my camera at the right time.

Awww shucks Steve .. thanks for your nice thoughts. I'll let you know when I find out who or what is "Skiddle Mania." There can't be another Skiddles Dee Dee out there and I not know about it! It could be a long lost relative or something... never know. I'll find out or I'll send out our Manna P.I. CJ can find out just about anything, I'm certain of that!

Kris, I'm sorry to say ol' Jerry is up in that Yazoo City, Mississippi in the sky now. I'd say your grandpappy was obviously a cultured man of refined tastes.

Skiddles, I was seeing stars, thanks to Crackah. Of course Crackah was seeing them thanks to Macca. Thank you again Macca for helping me out.
For some reason I still feel like I am still seeing them.

Let's see if I can get this all in one post......
Cracker Jax - "that Macca thing" (dododo whatever) on seafood eating last night! I went to a retirement party tonight. Were you there?!
Lacka - uh oh on La Hill de Libby - do tell!
Skiddles - love a shrimp burger at the beach. There's a good place at Salter Path too!
Waytago - long time no typalk! sorry I wasn't here when you stopped in!
Steve - I'll do some PI work on the Greensboro Academy sign too. I've got a good connection that might be able to throw me some info
Pappy - you are bringing back memories with Jerry Clower. Had to do a little research. Listened to some clips - had forgotten all about Newgene and Marcel Ledbetter, Uncle Versie and Roy D Mercer. I'm gonna have to spend some money to hear the punchlines though! Keep Hawwin' for us
And to everyone else out there!

Steve... are you one of Pappy's Kids?????
That is so funny... oh wait... I KNOW!!
YOU WERE NOT SOUTHERN BORN AND RAISED RIGHT??????
Jerry Clower was the original redneck comedian... back in the 60's maybe? Pappy can fill you in more I am sure! (Soon as he finishes listenin' to his new CD)
Jerry was famous for screaming HAWWWWWWWW!!! after one of his jokes. He was very funny. Last edited on Feb 5th, 2006 02:09 am by Cracker Jax

Steve, Steve, Steve. (visual of Pappy slowly shakin' his head in the sad realization that somehow I've failed in your upbringin', boy...)
We won't hold it against you. You're a good boy otherwise.
Anyway, somewhere between Mark Twain's stage performances and Jeff Foxworthy and the Blue Collar tour there was the phenomenon of Jerry Clower. Genius. Good Ol' Boy. Story Teller par Excellence.
Faulkner had his Yoknapatawpha county and the Snopes family, Clower had Yazoo City, Mississippi and the Ledbetters.
Please don't neglect your cultural education any further. Rush out and get a Jerry Clower CD as fast as you can.

One of my favorite Jerry Clower episodes was when Marcel Ledbetter was up in the tree after a coon and it turned out to be a bobcat that was tearin' him up! Marcel yelled for the boys on the ground to shoot that thang, it's a killin' me! They said we cain't, Marcel, we'll hit you! Marcel said, Well shoot up amongst us! Either way, I got to get some relief!
Genius.
