As we all know, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be FINALLY released to the public in about a week!  Are any of you Potter fans, and do you have plans for the night of the release?  Have you seen the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie?  What Harry Potter character are you (or your kids) going to dress up as?

I have grown up with the Harry Potter series and was wondering what y'all thought about the phenomenon.  I recently saw the latest movie, dressed in full Gryffindor regalia (maybe I'll post a picture!).

I was hooked when I finally decided to see what all the fuss was that my child was making. He has read all the books and knows it all. We went to the last book release together, in which he dressed up as Harry. Unfortunately, we are a little behind right now since he is away. I've been dying to see the movie but am holding off until he returns.

Can't wait for the final book! I'm still in a ponder about Snape...and worse, who dies?

And yes, I'd have to admit, I'm hooked on Potter.  The degree of imagination shown in the whole series was great.

The concept of starting up a stairway and having it change directions was great fodder for discussions at work regarding directions that get changed faster than people can implement.

I wish I could use "patronum expectus" with the same results as the wizards !! :D

Well, I've never gotten into the whole HP frenzy, but must admit now I'm ready to start at the beginning with reading the books and seeing the movies..... We're doing an inventory now to see what we have and what we need to get.....:D

I've been seeing Daniel Radcliffe on some of the talk shows and he says he's very pleased with how the latest movie turned out..... I think he's just hoping to get beyond always being seen as "Harry," even though the role has been wonderful for him! He has appeared nude in Equus on the London stage, has done a TV movie for British television and also has an independent Australian movie coming out.

Was the Z shaped scar anywhere else, or just on his forehead?

4 days and counting! Woo Hoo!

I'm frantically refreshing my memory by re-reading The Half Blood Prince so that I will be "in the know" when the Deathly Hallows comes out.

I'll be at one of the Potter Parties on Friday night, but I won't be dressed in my wizard wear.  That's a bit too much for me personally, but I enjoy seeing the folks who do like to dress up.

I'm hoping that Sirius is hanging out in Limbo and can communicate with Harry through the mirror because he was one of my favorite characters.

I don't think Harry, Ron or Hermoine will die.  If they do, I'll be sorely dissappointed.  Of course I didn't think she'd kill off Dumbledore either.......

Sooooo many questions!!!!

Who's gonna die?  Harry? Ginny? Ron? Hermoine? Hedwig? Hagrid?

Is Snape really a good guy or just a fence rider who is neither good or bad?  Why did Dumbledore trust him so?

What's the deal with the Dursleys?  Can't help thinking there's more to their story.....

Have they told us who R.A.B. is?  Is it Regulus Black?

Is Harry a Horcrux?

The excitement is just too much for me. I don't know if  I'm gonna make it. :?

I can't believe the day is quickly approaching when all our questions will be answered. Of course, I'm still trying to get to the movie, hopefully next week.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to attend any midnight parties like we did last time. For those of you attending any, have a great time! My only hope is that I don't run into anyone that tells me or my family the ending before we get a chance to finish the book. Which may also mean, staying away from any tv's!!

This is probably a dumb question, but as a non-parent, I am curious as to what the Northwest families with more than one child in the household of reading age or several children in the family who are Harry Potter fans did when the new book came out? As a for instance, if you have three reading age children in your family who are Harry fans, does that mean that you had to purchase 3 separate books? How do you satisfy the Harry frenzy in your household without going broke buying extra copies of the latest book?

Interesting review.

The British review sounds a bit like Simon Cowell wrote it, although the author was clearly revealed.

I probably won't get to read the book for a few months..........the saddest death to me was .............................'s.

If you find out, don't tell! It'll ruin the ending for everybody else. Somebody who knows send Steve a PM if you're going to tell him.

The last movie was great! I'll admit I've never really gotten into the frenzy, but I thought this movie was definitely the best one yet.

Sandra, I agree with your comments.

That is why I put the large SPOILER ALERT warning on the link within my post. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE ENDINGS, THEN DON'T CLICK ON THE LINK in my post.

I thought Steve handled his comments quite tactfully and I join you and he in asking that we not divulge the endings for a couple of weeks so that the serious fans of Harry Potter can learn the details through a complete reading of the book.

All in all, I think the larger press has done a rather magnificent job so far in not printing or broadcasting the endings so as to spoil it for serious readers. Of course, you can find out what happened on the Internet with a little research, but that is as it should be as well.

No Spoilers here Pappy!!!!!

I got my book and the others in the family who read bought their own.  We stop every hundred or so pages to discuss what's gone on so far.  I'm about halfway thru it and I'm really enjoying this book!

I'm dissappointed in you Steve!   I can't believe you read the spoilers!

That's cheating!!!!

Much obliged, Crackah!

We only bought one book here, but Pappy had the remedy fer that situation. I mixed up a dose o' Pappy's polyjuice potion. Pappy's brand works slightly differ'nt from your standard polyjuice. It don't really make duplicates o' things, it just makes you see duplicates.
