When will Americans wake up and demand that the Chinese use the same quality control that we have to use over here? If the Chinese were held to the same standards we were then the prices would not be so low. And besides why are we in the corporate bed with RED CHINA. I would like for a corporate exec. to defend these developments. We are told it is because we cannot compete and make has much money if things are made over here, I think it is because the execs. want a larger piece of the pie and the only way is to screw the American worker.

Good questions, ff12. Whether the answer is that the execs want a larger piece of pie for themselves or for their corporations, I think the answer all boils down to money and the bottom line. And as things like quality control, government inspections and regulations, and the minimum wage increase, I'm afraid we'll see even more things going to other countries where it's okay for somebody to work a 12-hour day and make $2.

I believe you can roll illegal immigrants and the domestic work force into this argument as well. -in regards to illegal immigrants working for less money and employers that are caught having to utilize them or not be competitive in their area of business. Construction contractors are caught between a rock and a hard place. If they only use legal workers and pay minimum wages, then they cannot bid projects as low as the others that use lower paid workers. This is simple math.

If we are going to deal with Communists and give them our stuff, why not Cuba? The cost to transport the goods would be a whole lot less and the execs. and stock holders could make even more money.

I think one of the biggest reasons for importing from other countries is that Americans only want to pay a certain amount for the goods they buy. To make the product, cover internal costs and have a profit margin, companies have gone to other countires to get the products made. Even with shipping, it is still much cheaper than making the products here.

We have all witnessed the tragic deaths of thousands of domestic cats and dogs in the world recently due to China's greed and disregard of quality control. Personally I want products that I can trust and rely upon. I am slowing down my purchases of "made in china" products. And you can to. Visit these links: U.S. Stuff or Made in America. Buy American made products. Help boost our economy and put Americans back to work.

We have another "chinese import" that has been labeled very hazardous. Better start reading those labels.......
"US officials have warned consumers to avoid using toothpaste made in China after a shipment was found to contain a poisonous chemical used in anti-freeze.
The Food and Drug Administration said it could contain diethylene glycol, which has been blamed for the deaths of at least 50 people in Panama last year.
The brands affected are usually sold at "bargain" retail outlets, the FDA said.
The warning comes amid a series of contamination scandals involving Chinese exports to the Americas."

Basically anything that is meant to go in stomach or in through my skin, I wil not buy a "bargin" item to save money. Dollar stores are not always bargin locations because there is a reason you are getting the item for $1. As my step-father said, "Nothing, absolutely nothing, in life is free. You pay some cost, either right away or down the road."

Another reason to avoid Chinese imports is that they are one of if not they largest oppresors of Christians in the world. How did we get from Tiannamen Square to giving them everything we have.
In regard to all the recalls of their products , if you make a deal with the devil you will get burnt..............

I don't think the RECALLS from Chinese Imports will stop or slow down any time soon. This is probably just the tip of the iceburg. You CAN make a difference, be an informed consumer.

I'm sure everyone has heard the latest on Chinese imports...... Some Diabetes strips, made in China are fake!!!!! And people are getting false readings and dosing themselves incorrectly. Talk about life threatening..... First they put an ingredient in dog/cat food that caused kidney/liver failure, next they used lead paint on a popular brand of children's toys, and now this. Make a STATEMENT don't buy MADE IN CHINA products. Your health, your child's health, your pets health may be at stake.
