The net effect of not buying gas on one day will not change the amount of money the gas companies make. It will just make the gas station busier tomorrow. Unless people did not "drive" today there will be no net change in the amount of gas used thus the gas you did not buy today you will buy tomorrow. By not buying gas today you may send a message of your displeasure about gas prices but no real financial impact. Just did some research, the article mentioning the 73 million users and the last gas out from 1997 appears to be an urban myth. http://www.statesmanjournal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070509/COLUMN0101/705090305/1064 Last edited on May 15th, 2007 06:54 pm by |

Yeah, unfortunately for something like this to work, everyone has to stay home and stop consumption, not just delay a purchase for a day. From what I saw, all commerce was alive & well today on the highways. |

First of all, I'm thrilled to see that someone else has the same difficulty with the words "affect" and "effect" that I do. I forgot and bought gas today..... Only because I happened to be crusin' up toward Madison and the Huddle House had the cheapest gas I've seen in a while. They also have Stucky's Pecan Logs in Supersize! |
