Just wanted to post a note that a Forum/Conference (I hosted for 15 years) will be coming to The Airport Marriott August 3-5th.  It is called the Citizen-Board Member State Forum.  This year's topic is "Changing Lives, Impacting Communities Through Parks and Recreation."

Each year there is an orientation session for new Board members.  There are always great topics and the benefits of meeting and socializing with other members from across the state is tremendous.

This is more of a Notice than a topic but I wanted to get the word out and encourage all local Parks and Recreation Commissions or Committees to attend.

You can email either Michelle Wells at the State North Carolina Recreation and Parks Association (NCRPA) michelle@ncrpa.net or our local contact Bernadette White with Greensboro parks and Recreation for a brochure.  bernadette.white@greensboro-nc.gov.

For those interested, here's the State Web site:  NCRPA

http://www.ncrpa.net/

If anyone can help get the word to commission and committee members I would appreciate it.  They will really benefit from attending and we are lucky enough to have it in our own back yard!

I will let my wife know, she is on the commission. I will let her know to forward it around. Their first meeting as a commission is tomorrow.

Thanks for passing this along, dmhawv. I saw on one of our other pages that Summerfield people have also taken note. Hopefully several people from this area will be able to attend.
