What do you folks think of the new claim Pat Robertson just came out with that said there will be mass killings in the U.S. in 2007?

I have a few things to say, but will refrain for now. I would like to hear some of your comments.

I forgot to mention -- in Pat Robertson's claim -- that he said it was God that told him this.

Also, I should mention, I DO NOT listen to, nor condone Pat Robertson in any shape, form , or fashion. The only reason I even heard of his claim was due to the headlines it made on CNN.com.

How does Mr. Robertson explain these "predictions" from past years that didn't materialize?

Wow! Excellent article, Jim! Thanks a million!

Apparently, this guy is really a straight up quack and has a long history of being nothing but just that.

It really makes me sick at my stomach to think there are people in the world that actually believe in this.... ARGH!  :X

Are there other "psychics" out there making predictions for this year? Is anyone paying attention to them?

Macca, please don't take this the wrong way, but WHO CARES?

Frankly, Jimbo, I don't.... but was just wondering how he covers for them when they're not correct and justifies continuing to make them and expect people to believe them....

Well, Pappy did predict a shortage of bacon this year as well as a shortage of his egg nog. ('Course he was eating bacon and sippin' egg nog when he made these predictions)

Mr. Mike is paying attention to his first prediction and I am paying lots of attention to his second one.

TEE HEE!! ♥♥♥

Reminds me of Jeane Dixon.

Wikipedia says, "Dixon was so well-known that John Allen Paulos, a mathematician at Temple University, coined what he called the "Jeane Dixon effect", in which people loudly tout a few correct predictions and overlook false predictions. Many of Dixon's forecasts proved false, such as her prediction that World War III would begin in 1958 over the offshore Chinese islands of Quemoy and Matsu, that labor leader Walter Reuther would run for president in 1964 and that the Soviets would land the first man on the moon."

I'm also reminded of Oral Roberts. Wikipedia says,

"In 1980, Oral Roberts said he had a vision of a 900-foot-tall Jesus who encouraged him to continue the construction of his City of Faith Medical and Research Center, which opened in 1981. At the time, it was the largest health facility of its kind in the world and sought to merge prayer and medicine in the healing process. The City of Faith was in operation for only eight years before closing in late 1989. ....

"In 1987, during a fundraising drive, Roberts announced to a television audience that unless he raised $8 million by that March, God would "call him home" (an euphemism for death). He raised $9.1 million. [citation needed] Later that year, he announced that God had raised the dead through Roberts' ministry...."
