It's official -- John Edwards is running for president. What do you think?

Wouldn't it be grand if he REALLY had a plan for affordable health care, balancing the budget, attacking the energy crisis, and solving the middle east problem? Well, we'll have to listen to what he has to say and pray that he or another candidate will focus on getting the country back on track. I think the American people are weary of politics and posturing. John Edwards is definitely not my choice, but I'll give him the chance to change my mind!

I agree, Starcatchr, I think he might be more flash than substance. I think he could put whatever millions he'll spend on campaignin' to much better use. Still, it's good to hear from more than one or two candidates. I'll wait an' see what the boy brings to the table.
Hey, Sandra, can we get him on the candidates forum next time? I'd really like to hear from the Rev. Al, too.

John Edwards - a one-term Senator, former trial lawyer, and now author. So what! "Where's the beef?" I think that he's still under the delusion that having a white toothy smile and a Kennedy-esque photogenic profile puts him in the running for POTUS. Ain't gonna happen.

"More flash than substance"? That may be all it takes, you know. While many of you guys on the forum will delve deep into the issues, many people cast their votes based on the candidate they like the most -- and who could resist a handsome lawyer from N.C.?
Pappy - I'll do my best to get him on the candidate's forum next year. I'd be interested to hear his responses to pointed questions from our forum participants.

I was sorry to hear that Elizabeth Edwards' cancer has returned. It has spread to her bones, which usually means it is not curable. The sooner it returns, the more serious it is. She was first diagnosed in 2004.....
Edwards plans to continue with his campaign for the Presidency.....

I heard that too, Macca. That's gottaa be tough to face. They said it was manageable, but not curable, whatever that means.

Pappy they likened it to diabetes which is manageable but not cureable. There was a very interesting physician on the news tonight saying we might need to rethink our classification of curing cancer. Look at Aids which for 20 years killed virtually everybody now those that have the medicine available and stay on it can mange the disease. Look at how long Magic Johnson has had it. So her cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence like it use to be.
