Summary of Minutes 9-4-07 19 people were in attendance. Roxanne Gilgallon, a candidate for town council, introduced herself to the group and read a portion of her mission statement. She asked for information on the change of government and why we supported it. She stated that she was approached to run for council and was excited to do so. The group discussed ways to encourage people to get out and vote and how to help educate the citizens on council and community activities. We need to educate them and let them know that they do have the right to vote and exactly which polls will be open. (Go to Voter Info page) Several in attendance asked if we could contact the NW Observer and ask them to place the NWO in more businesses along the fringes of Summerfield for those residents who do not receive it in the mail. Patti Stokes has informed FFS that the NW Observer will not be holding a traditional candidate's forum for this election but will instead offer an online candidate's forum and that the online responses would also be published in the paper. |
