EDUCATE • ENCOURAGE • SUPPORT • GUIDE
The group was formed out of concerns that the negative impact we have felt in our community during the past 2 years has caused unnecessary disruption and stagnation. The Friends for Summerfield believe it's time to begin moving our town forward again toward the future, and time to let the negatives of the past remain in the past.
Each month at Town Council meetings we will present a speaker with a positive message and we will also offer responses, when appropriate, to ensure any misperceptions are clarified and any misinformation is corrected. By giving our town council the support it needs through positive citizen involvement, by educating ourselves about the community issues we all face, and by speaking out respectfully and truthfully to offer ideas for improvements, we will work to ensure that Summerfield's future continues to build on Summerfield's past, instead of being stifled by it.
We have been amazed by and grateful for the huge outpouring of support we have received from long-time residents and newcomers alike in the first few weeks of our existence. Such a strong indication of broad-based approval for the direction we have chosen is encouraging. We hope you will join us as we move forward and take an active and positive role in shaping our community.
